Atlanta-born Thomas Barker contributed "Four Sets," brief pieces totalling eight minutes. Each miniature was couched in a different idiom: the first a sort of modern update of Ivesian country fiddling, the second a yearning, quiescent piece with open, Coplandesque textures, the third stop-and-go in character, the fourth foreboding enough for the "Twilight Zone."
